#SocialSeptember is upon us!

There is immense diversity in the Startup ecosystem of UAE.

The popular categorizations are Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Travel & Aviation etc. To clearly differentiate themselves, the Sub-genres are also found in the Twitter bios of the Startups. The overarching example is the category of Tech Startups. There’s FinTech, EdTech, AgTech, any many others. Their only similarity is Technological innovation at their core. With that they branch out to deliver specific solutions to their niche audience.

At the start of every entrepreneur’s journey, the one question that needs personal reflection is the ‘Why?’.

Why do I want to do this?

Why is this so important to me?

Social Entrepreneurship answers the Why with its inception.

Let us warn you while we have your attention. As Social Entrepreneurship gains pace and popularity, it becomes harder to define what it is.

Many may argue, that their Startup (or Company), brings about positive social change, ergo, they are Social Enterprises.

For the month of September, we shall help solve the mystery around ‘Social Enterprises and Entrepreneurs’ in the best way we know how.

In the past, we have participated in workshops, conferences, seminars and competitions to gain a better understanding of the subject, first-hand.

This time, will be no different.

Our Co-Founder, Ayesha Naseem, was accepted to the Badiri Social Entrepreneurship Programme (BSEP). A scholarship programme offered by Badiri Academy, the Education arm of NAMA in partnership with School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) UK.

Naqash, an idea about creating positive social change through an online and offline portal encouraging dialogue, has taken her down an exciting path.

As LiveWire, we remain steadfast in our Vision to bring the best of entrepreneurial learning to the United Arab Emirates and take the distinctness of UAE to the world.

Thanks to the support from NAMA and the School for Social Entrepreneurs we shall be able to bring to you an entire month of content with expert insights, vlogs and journeys of local and global social entrepreneurs.

Ayesha was accepted into a cohort of 13 extraordinary women, all addressing a deeply personal Why. They have been gracious in sharing their experience on the programme, with LiveWire.

Now, where does that leave you?

Stay tuned to fresh content to have a front row seat to all that is going to unfold throughout the month.

If you have been following us on our social media handles, you may have already seen the buzz around #SocialSeptember.

Join the conversation and spread word. Chances are we may be able to move faster in changing the world for the better!

P.S. Heads-up! This is an on-going programme, culminating in early 2019. We shall have more content as we go!
